Myofasical Trigger Point Release Massage
Associated with muscular skeletal pain, and often referred to as “knots,” trigger points are referred to as area in the fascia surrounding skeletal muscle. Referred pain patterns have been mapped to trigger points.
Activation of trigger points may be caused by acute or chronic muscle overload, other trigger points, disease, stress, trauma and health issues.
Applied techniques to trigger points may elicit local tenderness, referred pain or a local twitch response.
Massage applies a variety of techniques to work on deactivating trigger points. Tehniques may include applies pressure, stretching: including proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) and muscle energy techniques (MET).
Designed to prevent & relieve injuries that are associated with sports & exercise i.e. fishing, swimming, surfing, netball, running & training. Sports massage aims to increase endurance & performance, minimise the chances of injury & keep your body in good working order.
Dry Needling, also referred to as intramuscular stimulation, is used for the management of musculoskeletal pain. It involves insertion of a filiform needle into the skin and muscle at a myofascial trigger point. Dry needling aims to elicit a local twitch response (LTR), often felt as a muscle contraction. Dry needling aims to result in the reduction of musculoskeletal pain.
Deep Tissue Massage
Chronic muscle tension or injury may have painful bands of adhesions present. Deep tissue massage works on breaking down restrictions and scar tissue in the deeper myofascial of the muscle, tendons and ligament by applying slow strokes with deep finger pressure, compression and friction.
Deep tissue massage assists in eliminate toxins from the muscles, increasing range of movement and restoring length and flexibility to the fascia. The overall goal being, to over time, to relive pain and restore normal muscle movement.
Helps relax the body, reduce muscle aches & joint pain, anxiety, swelling discomfort, depression & improve circulation. Aims to improve the health of both the mother & baby.
Cups are used to create a suction against the skin, intended to help treat pain, deep scar tissues in the muscles and connective tissue, muscle knots, and swelling.
