Treat those more painful or tense areas of your body with dry needling (alone or combined with massage). This technique may release trigger points & increase circulation into the area to aid recovery.
Dry Needling, also referred to as intramuscular stimulation, is used for the management of musculoskeletal pain. It involves insertion of a filiform needle into the skin and muscle at a myofascial trigger point. This technique aims to elicit a local twitch response (LTR), often felt as a muscle contraction. Dry needling aims to result in the reduction of musculoskeletal pain.
Dry needling treatments may be provided by qualified Therapists ie: Physiotherapists or Remedial Massage Therapists.
